In a major success Army troops near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir district of Baamulla recovered war like stores, including automatic weapons, which was to be transported to hinterland for militants, a defence ministry spokesman said.
He said on a tip off late Wednesday evening regarding likely weapon drop along the LoC, a search operation was launched in Hathlanga, Rampur sector in Uri in Baramulla district.
He said during the operation a weapon cache was discovered, which included one AK 47 rifle, five Chinese pistols with magazines 24 other grenades and other warlike stores.
He said the arms and ammunition were new and all markings had been erased. They were likely to have been transshipped from across the LoC for further transport to hinterland for militants, he said.
